Why Malvena Pearl 

Malvena Pearl was the name of my beloved grandmother who taught me how to sew. We would sit on her porch and enjoy listening to the birds’ songs. She was also the best Scrabble player I ever met and she loved to listen to the baseball game on the radio.

Read some stories about my various creative projects on the journal/blog, among these pages.  We began this blog selling goods at trunk shows and costume maker events in Northern California, at tables, with ephemera, jewelry, books, accessories, fabric and sewing supplies. There were hand-made, hand-designed items. The goods were inspired by the technology and aesthetics of the 19th and early 20th centuries. We are still obsessed with stories, history, costumes and natural forms.
